Is it just me or do EA have a bad track record?
Because EA have bought some of Ubi Soft.
Not EA games, but games published by EA.
Burnout being one... Battlefield 2 should be another. Fight Night 2005 will be awesome.
The problem EA have, is that they are such a MASSIVE company, that they can't afford not to release a Fifa or a Bond, or a Medal of 'Honor'.
Their costs are immense. They make average quality games, and market them like they came with a free selection of FL-Class diamonds. Advertising is the key to EA's success. Ubisoft, on the other hand make genuinely good games. Granted, they do publish some tat, as do most major companies, but in general, their best is much better than EA's best. Splinter Cell Vs Goldeneye? hahaha! Laughable!
EA buy their quality, but it wasn't always like that. They made the first Fifa in Isometric '3D' and it was awesome. I remember thinking graphics had reached their best! Back on topic, EA's best games (in terms of quality) are Burnout and Battlefield with Need For Speed soon behind. DICE own Battlefield and Criterion (A UK developer, for the unlearned) built Burnout up from scratch.
I'll buy EA games in the future.. Because I want to play them. Fight Night 2005, Battlefield 2, and if EA have their way, maybe even Splinter Cell 4! I wouldn't miss on HALO 3, SC: CT or Conker L&R to play EA games, but like many other developers, they offer something unique.
Like Def jam and burnout.
