People go out of their way to make others who have different religious beliefs feel more welcome by getting rid of Christmas decorations and trying to change the name to "Winterfest" or something.

At the same time, these same people are moaning about the Gambling Legislation Bill thingy that will allow horse racing etc on Christmas Day and Easter.

Erm.

Backwards.

Also, is the only reason you can't buy alcohol before 12.30pm on Sundays because of churches?

I only thought about it today, and that's the only reason I can think of for it..

But surely that's not welcoming otehr religions?

Is this a dig at me?

I'm not trying to change people's beliefs or make Christmas into something it's not. I just don't like the word "xmas".

I'm annoyed with other people coming into our country and demand that the huge Christmas tree gets taken down in a shopping centre because they find it offensive. Found that out a month ago and still annoyed about it. Now there's no tree :-( Meh.
We go into other countries and might moan about how different things are, but we don't demand change. So others should respect how we have it. Freakin' fools.

Also.. I never knew you couldn't buy alkeehol before whenever on a Sunday! How rude.

I find churches/synagogues etc etc offensive.

I say they demolish them all. People in general are annoying and should be shot. When I worked in Safeway the alcohol aisles were sealed off on a Sunday morning.

Stupid religious people, all it does is stop people doing a weekly shop on a Sunday morning.

It's because we want to appear to be caring and to show we listern to people as a country but we just want to look good we don't really care. I don't give a stuff if someone is offened by a big tree.

I'm offened by ugly people on the street and i barely ever go up to them and tell them. 'Your face offends me' and i don't expect them to all stay in or have the good manners to where a bag on their head.

We don't seem to care as much about our british born peoples views and religions as we do about all the imports we get. We should respect the way they live and they should respect the way we live. They have no right to ask our society to change.

Even though you two sound like he Daily Mail I do find it that example quite annoying.

All it will do is stir up more racial hatred, stupid political correctness.

The general public that don't agree with the taking down of a tree cause someone is offened will turn against or at least think worse of the group in the community that had it taken down.

What will be next? No xmas trees in your front window? Or lights outside your house?

So it was all them nasty coloureds who asked for this to be done was it?

Or was it a bunch of hand-wringing lefties who would worry about whether worrying is offensive to minorities?

Or...is it just the standard apocryphal tale trotted out by the Daily Mail every year in order to bring us into the Christmas spirit by resenting anyone not white or christian?

Now this annoyed me. Why the uproar about the casinos opening up? Are they demolishing schools and hospitals to build them all? Are they getting 5 year old kids to work in them and only paying them 2p a day? Is it a secret hostile takeover plan of Britain?

Just because a casino opens up doesn't mean we'll all flock to it like sheeps and suddenly develop a gambling habit.
