For some reason, over the last few weeks, therehas been a marked increase in the amount of swearing on the boards, coming from both newbies and some regulars.

If you are new, please take a look at the rules: http://ukchatforums.com/forumrules.php. Even if you're not, it might not hurt to review them again.

Just to get it clear, swearing in any form is not allowed. That includes starring out letters and replacing letters with ! characters etc. The swear filter in place will catch some but it is only a backup tool. In reality someone has to go through and edit or delete your post.

First offence will be a warning, repeated violations will result in a banning. It is such a stupid thing to be banned for because it is utterly preventable.

Please bear in mind that this is a family forum, visited by people of all ages, and it is irresponsible (and unnecessary) to use bad language around here.

Thanks.

So swearing was against the rules for the first year.

Then it was allowed to go on for the next three. (recently staffie?)

Why bother enforicing the rules now?

Do you userstand what utter poppycock you're talking when you say this is a family forum?

It's faux and you know it.

Families don't visit the forum together and all marvel at the screen like gloss-coated AOL adverts.

It is visited by priamrily teenage lads between 14 and 19, then there's a scattering of older members who tend to keep the younger ones in check, and a handful of girlies who flirt gleefully with their pert bosoms and acne-ridden faces.

Family forum is a crock of About Schmidt which I just bought on DVD from eBay after some great recommendations.

Love 'dox.
