I originally had Firefox 0.8 and every time I clicked a link, the message box would pop up 'randomwebsite.com could not be found. Check the name and try again' or something along those lines. so I click ok, click the link again and it works.

This is getting very annoying as I have to do it every time I click a link.

I upgraded to Firefox 1.0 and the problem is still there.

Internet Explorer is fine however.

I don't have any spyware, adware or virii on my machine so I haven't a clue why it's playing up all the time.

Any help please?

EDIT - sometimes I can't even access a link at all without resorting to IE. Grrr!

I have the same problem occasionally and I'm using Safari on a Mac. Several other people on a Mac forum I frequent also have the problem using Safari, Firefox, Opera, Camino and IE.

The most common answer seems to be along the lines of:

"I'd suspect the DNS server. That happens quite a bit on my college campus, but never at home. Unfortunately, the DNS server issues are largely out of our control."

I had this trying to get to "weebls-toons" and a few others. I thought it was isolated to their being a "-" in the address. Can't help you further than that however.
