Now dont put me down as some sort of frigid barry, I enjoy Eminem as much as the next person. Swearing in songs is a more and more happening thing recently. Swearing in songs can be acceptable in certain circumstances, e.g. raps like stan in which strong language is needed for it to be realistic. However, my moan is at people like jennifer lopez. her recent song has swear words in wen it is totally unnecassery. These are songs that are played daily over the radio that mainly young impressionable children will be listening to. This is especially true in the case of jennifer lopez. her song is upbeat and supposed to make people dance. there is no need for the random swear word in the middle of the song. in these cases strong language is not needed to sell the records, none of her previous records to my knowledge had swearing in, and they have gone down pretty well. these are the songs that young children will be growing up listening to and thinking that that type of language is ok. you maybe wondering why i am not having a go at dr dre or eminem. this is simply because the type of music they have revolves around the whole bad boy attitude. they cant go around saying 'i poo on you'. it would ruin their image. however, jennifer lopez and certain other people dont have this kind of image. they dont rely on the whole bad boy image. so my final words are, 'there is no need for unnecassery swearing, its not big and its not cleva. just dont blame me when kids are swearing as soon as they speak.'

Also, doesn't Papa Roach's 'Last Resort' bear a certain resemblence to a certain Green Day song too?

Heh.:) I'm glad I'm not the only person who spotted that Coby Dick stole a quote from Fight Club.

On an unrelated note GB, check out this month's Metal Hammer, it's a got a pretty good interview with Danny Carey.

That's fine Reaper.
Just because I dont like something, doesnt mean it's bad.
I just state my opinions, and only as they apply to me.

I find a band that sings about how meaningless posessions and money are, yet expect you to get their album is...questionable.

And that song, the lyrics are rehashed from Fight Club.
"Working jobs that you hate...for things you don't need..what you own...owns you"

I personally find their lyrical approach to be juvenile, purile and pretty funny.

But that's just me, again it doesnt mean I'm right

True.

same goes with Pantera's "f***ing hostile"

What a classic, "I'm in a bad mood" song.

Super Furry Animals.

The Man Don't Give A ....

The song wouldn't be the same without the profanity.

Guess your right but i hate all these manufactured pop BS bands that always steal the spotlight from bands who actually work for what they have.
I hope it isn't true but there isn't much i can do about it if it is anyway so, sod it!

Hey dude, it's just a rumour.

If you like the music, I guess it doesnt matter.

It beats Papa Roach's Suburban Teen Angst rock bulls**t.

"No love from my mother....." er...you're 30 dude.

"I dont need it..I dont want it...no possessions".
Fine, John Lennon got there before you, but cool.

So you're saying we dont need possessions.
Oh, except for your new album? Ah, well that's different then.

I dont know, but that's the over-riding opinion.

They're on tour with the Deftones, and Chino refuses to speak to them.

When asked why he doesnt like them:

"We've been doing this stuff for over a decade now. To stick us with some band that met at auditions and have a nice little rider of fruit and mountain dew after each show is an insult. Still, at least it gives people a chance to see the difference between bands like that and us"

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
