Now dont put me down as some sort of frigid barry, I enjoy Eminem as much as the next person. Swearing in songs is a more and more happening thing recently. Swearing in songs can be acceptable in certain circumstances, e.g. raps like stan in which strong language is needed for it to be realistic. However, my moan is at people like jennifer lopez. her recent song has swear words in wen it is totally unnecassery. These are songs that are played daily over the radio that mainly young impressionable children will be listening to. This is especially true in the case of jennifer lopez. her song is upbeat and supposed to make people dance. there is no need for the random swear word in the middle of the song. in these cases strong language is not needed to sell the records, none of her previous records to my knowledge had swearing in, and they have gone down pretty well. these are the songs that young children will be growing up listening to and thinking that that type of language is ok. you maybe wondering why i am not having a go at dr dre or eminem. this is simply because the type of music they have revolves around the whole bad boy attitude. they cant go around saying 'i poo on you'. it would ruin their image. however, jennifer lopez and certain other people dont have this kind of image. they dont rely on the whole bad boy image. so my final words are, 'there is no need for unnecassery swearing, its not big and its not cleva. just dont blame me when kids are swearing as soon as they speak.'

It depends what you mean by radio. There are plenty of radio stations that play rock on the Internet, and also digital stations. But that's not my point all. As I said earlier, swearing isn't a substitute for talent. I'm not even referring to any potential listeners. Why keep using swear words, when there are thousands of other words in the English language? It shows a lack of imagination. Constant use of swear words just makes them redundant.

The radio dosn't play any KoRn song so those who want to listen to it buy the CD. Their swearing doesn't affect anyone except those willing to listen to it.

Swearing is perhaps the least destructive way to vent your anger, I don't have a problem with it as long as it's in moderation and not around children or impressionable people - or the elderly.

It's one point. The point some of us are trying to make is that we don't actually find swearing in songs offensive. A lot of the time it's a replacement for good lyrics, or just trying to spark up controversy. I'm not personally saying ban songs, or that people shouldn't listen to them. I'm just saying that swearing isn't a substitute for talent.

Thats EXACTLY the point. People can say what they want. You don't have to listen.

Freedom of Speech, when she wants to be a pointless, loud mouthed Yank, we don't have to listen "Freedom of Ignorance!!"
