Why isn't there a UK apple support number?

Would it be cheaper to get an iPod Mini or iPod 20GB?

I've spent 10 hours trying to fix my iPod and I think i've broken it, i'm selling my Xbox so i'll have about £100 to either get a brand new iPod Mini or 20GB or get my current one repaired.

Help?

I broke my iPod by shutting it in a car door in February, having owned it since the previous April, sent it back to Apple for £30 and they sent me a brand new one in return.

If you live near London I suggest you take it to the new Apple Store on Regent street, otherwise a courier will bring a box to your house, package it up, and then call the courier and have it shipped back to Apple.
