When I was about 13, I told a teacher that my parents were splitting up, so that I could get out of doing some homework. They weren't splitting up, of course, it was a cunning lie to look big in front of my friends, and so that I could spend the night playing Street Fighter 2 on the Mega Drive instead. Now my girlfriend of 5 years' Aunt was a classroom assistant at the time, and she kind of knew my parents. It turns out that my parents splitting up became a big talking point in the teacher's lounge, and word spread...
Then last night we were talking about things we did at school (the worst the gf ever did was break a paintbrush), and it turns out that her and her Aunt had talked about the situation with my parents before, and my girlfriend had never spoken to me about it because she didn't know how to bring up the subject. I wonder how far word of my parents splitting up went?

WAIT..I remember hearing about that! It was on radio 4! or not? wow...extreme paintbrush. lol. Lets see..the worst thing I ever did waasss..OH!. lol. I one of the rooms at the back there was a ledge and then big windows..that opened outwards..so we all used to group up in one of the rooms a breaktimes and force people out onto the ground. lol. It was so fun. and then one guy wedged himself in a corner or the window..and it broke..and we got in dung. (damm filter)
Also I've stolen about 60 metres of ethernet cable and counting.
But dude, your girlfriend's paintbrush breaking scenario - thats wild!
