My specs are pretty low for now days i have had the computer for 2 years now. I play halflife 2 with everything on max just turned off AA and set filtering to biliner. Got well over 40fps the whole game, same with Doom 3 and Farcry just don't use AA if you have a low spec computer you wont notice much till you stop moving and by then your either being gay and camping or dead. :D
I have an Athlon 64 3000+
Abit KV8 Pro Motherboard
1Gb DDR400 PC3200
80Gb Seagate Barracuda 7200.7
Sapphire Radeon 9800 256Mb.
This lets me play Half Life 2 on Medium to good settings, and Doom 3 on High ( the best setting says something about needing a 500Mb graphics card ) and Far Cry plays on Very High settings.
I know you need 1Gb of memory, becasue I only had 512Mb until yesterday, the extra 512Mb solved all of the disk caching problems in Doom 3 and Half Life 2.
The more you spend, the more you get, really.
Well, not exactly, but as a general principle it's usually true.
> Wait till i get my vapochill/prommy.
I'm at 2.6 on air... maybe I should get one.
Just checking.
CS continues to be a gayby on my computer, despite HL2 running flawlessly.
I even tried dropping to stock speed on my CPU and I still get frequent crashes :' {
Though my computer has been restarting randomly, but there is a bios to fix it, i just havent bothered flashing it yet.
+ are you using an abit NF-7?
+ does counter strike: source ever crash for you for no apparent reason?
