I disagree entirely. It is one of the few thought provoking films around these days that has a gripping plot and fufilling end.

I've watched it, and thought it was over complicated crap that people pretended to "get" to look "cool", and "cult".
Seen the Butterfly Effect too, and that is a bloody good film.

I really liked it.
Though, I do think that many people who did originally like it have done exactly what they criticise in others and now denounce it, claiming it's been spoilt when they're just being horribly pretentious in wanting to be 'different'.
