Am I the only one in here that doesn't think life sucks?

After reading Timmarghs thread, some of the comments like "I thought everyone thinks about suicide at age 14" worry me a bit.

I've never thought it. I've never thought how crap and miserable my life is, and yes, I've had my downs as well as ups. Being ginger and spotty at school meant that they weren't exactly the happiest days of my life.

I'm 23 now. Still ginger, but no spots. Well, only the odd one...

Anyway, what I'm saying is despite ups and downs I've never thought about suicide.

So, am I the odd one out or something?

You say that but I don't think you can really know unless you're confronted with the situation. Though for all I know you could have been in that situation. Doubt it though.

Suicide's never quite been my cup of tea. For one thing, I'm often nauseatingly optimistic. For another, my life has been such a damn easy ride so far I've never thought about ending it all.

I'd kill to stay alive. No really, I would.

I've thought about it, never considered it.

I thought about it ages ago and stupidly tried it which I feel so embarrassed about now. Weird thing is though, I love life. Nothing more special in the world than living itself. So b-e-a-uuutiful. :) There are people out there who are much more worse off, unfortunately. I'm just trying to appreciate it everyday!!

I used to think about it sometimes, like sitting down the station, waiting for my folks to turn up.. But in the end it's not worth it. Losers kill themselves, winners skip the country.

Most people who consider it or say they've considered it usually suffer from tunnel vision, i.e. they focus on the bad thing in their life and not the good things.

I imagined how my family and friends would react if I did it and that was enough to stop me in my tracks, although admittedly I'd only got as far as actually thinking about it. Once I'd decided against it I started to notice the good things in life like friendship, laughter and porn.

I thought about suicide once when i was about that age, but now Im completely the opposite. Life is good. Very good.

I thought about it. I mean, I didn't think about DOING it, my high school years were bad (very bad at some points) but I never thought it was so useless that I had to end it all. I just thought about what would happen.

I put up with the crap in high school because I had to, knowing in a few years all the idiots who had a go at me would still be idiots and that I could get on with my life. I'm now harder than about 90% of all the people I disliked in high school, I could've gone on some mad rampage during 6th form and got revenge, but a) I'm a coward and b) it's not worth it.

If I didn't think they were worth getting into a fight over, there was no way they were worth me ending my life.

I've never thought about doing it at all.

I have mood swings sometimes that last a day or two but I've come to accept them and it makes me appreciate life more.

So, no I'm with you. Though I do have a pretty comfortbale life.

Put another vote down on your side. I never comtemplated it either. I was neither with the popular or unpopular crowd at school. Although some of the 'popular' girls tried to get a little friendly when they started going out with my mates.
