Government is planning to cut benefit for pensions. Personally, I don't see the problem... especially when I met someone the other day who has been living off unemployment benefit for years and told me he has no intention of getting a job.

Kind of made me angry, didn't want to start another fight though.

Could do with increasing the minimum wage also.

£70 a week for no work
£150-£200 a week for crappy work

Or it should be like australia where you have to prove that you have been looking for a job to continue to get the benefit.

You might not hate it as much as you made out, but I despise the unemployment benefit system.
Fair enough if you can't get a job becasue you're sick, or a disability prevents it, but people who don't have a job, but could easily go down to Tesco or something and hand in a CV (even if it's bare) will eventually get a job.

Maybe welfare system = good, but you get 10 weeks on it maximum, then you need at least 1 years work before you cna go back on it.

Reading back that post I sounded like the Daily Mail or something. What I meant was I support such a welfare system but I can't stand people absuing it.

There shouldn't be an unemployment benefit full stop.

It's their fault if they can't get a job.

Wonderful...
