I'm conducting a poll thing. Just a few questions.
1) How old are you?
2) What was the first console you owned?
3) Have you ever owned a Nintendo console?
4) Do you think that Nintendo is a childish company?
Simple few word answers, doesn't take long. Ta. :D

MGS did that to me, and it wasn't childish.

I suppose chilidish is not the right word, but what I

Very true.
I think the image of Mario, Zelda and other like it (the ones classed in the "alright" category for N64 rather than the ones that rarely leave the shelves) is just too cartoony and as a result childish.
I suppose chilidish is not the right word, but what I mean is, that despite the fantastical nature of the Final Fantasies, they make it a realistic believable world, rather than one locked in a cartoon world where everything has pink borders.
I first owned a Sega Mega Drive.
No, I have never owned a Nintendo console.
In some ways I believe they are more childish than others. Too many cartoonie platformers in my opinion.

The thing is, there's a difference between childish and childlike. Mario is a simple concept and includes no real-life violence, but does it make this childish?
This technically means that anything not including harrowing storylines, blood and guts and weapons is classed as childish. In that case, I'd hate to live in your adult world.
I don't this soft visuals, animal characters or kart racing games are exactly childish, they appeal to children as well as to adults, but that's different.
Plus:
Fzero, NHL, NBA, SF Rush, Top Gear Rally, Castlevania, Killer Instinct, Doom, Quake, Quake II, WWF No Mercy (etc), Turok, Operation Winback, F1 (various), ISS, Eternal Darkness, Hydro Thunder, Re-Volt....
Not all Nintendo made, I know, but all appearing on Nintendo platforms.
