Our school started the chess club today, so I thought I'd pop along and see if I'm still up to scratch. I haven't been in a chess club since '97 when I represented the year 6 team (seed 5) - despite being in year 3. However, in my 2 1/2 matches with a guy from the year above today - I prevailed both times and I'm eyeing up the one spot in January to the National Chess Championship to represent the school. And the organiser (from the Sith Form) is the former Under 18 British Chess Champion, so that's all good.

Truly the sport of Kings.

It's one of those games that bores the hell out of me after about 5 mintutes, but I can still play.

The bro occasionally likes to play me at Star Wars chess. That just confuses me.

Haven't played in ages, it's one of those games i only seem to be able to play occasionally, my grandad taught me when i was about 9 or 10.
I found that if i can survive for maybe the first 10 moves then i'll usually win otherwise i'll get massacred in under 15 minutes.
How do you play it FF, i've always set up my defences and just wait for a mistake ?

Yeah, anyone who plays chess and understands it obviously has enough mental capability to have a simple, non-violent chat.

Hmmmm, Chess. Not a game I play often. Although I do know the rules, and I do play now and again.
