Okay, so here's the new SSC topic:

Shard of Light

It can play as big or small a part in your story as you like. Hopefully it isn't too crappy and uninspiring a topic. ;-)

No real rules, just remember to add SSC12 to your title, and try not to make things too long. Also, one entry per-person.

Closing date is October 22nd.

Sorry to all of you who didn't get to the top three. Really, this was the hardest thing ever to judge because I liked all of the stories so much. Well done to everyone, and a special mention Fozz, just because I loved the storybook charm of it so much.

And a little 'beg'. If you get the chance will you read 'Insanity' please? It should have been my entry but the inspiration arrived too late.

I'll get on my knees if I have to.

I'm distracting myself from my writing with this, which is slowing me down. My "story" will still be finished tonight though. I don't know why I struggle to write serious stuff.

Oh yeah, "too jokey and can't take things seriously".

You know me well enough to realise it was the latter.

It's hard to know if you're actually being serious and talking about writing, or if that was a sexual pun.
