Why should I care about other people?
Why shouldn't I be racist, sexist, nationalist, or any other "bad"ist?
Why?
Why should I care for peoples feelings?
Why should I be nice?
Why should people be nice to me?
Why do people deserve sympathy?
Why do people scowl at me for being "racist"
Why should we care for anyone but ourselves?

That's all one question split into lots of sub questions. Explain.

Some people don't even think about those situations, they'd help automatically or just leave them well alone. More of a spur of the moment chpice than, "hmm, let me ponder about this for a while" thing.

For example,
Someone drops the contents of their shopping all over the street.

I have two options:

Bend over, help them pick it up
Rewards: sore knees (i have a knee condition thing), I'm now running slightly late for whatever I was doing (even if it is few seconds), they say "thankyou"

Keep on walking, let them do it themselves
Rewards: I still have all of my time, my knees are fine, the person knows that people won't help them, so they try harder not to drop their stuff.

Hmmmmmmm.

That's right. Try doing something productive with your thinking time instead.

But I don't understand why I should be nice to people. If someone could explain it, then maybe I would be, but seeing as I don't actually reap any benefit from it (unless they give me money for it, which would like, never happen), why should I do it?

Waste of energy.

No s**t Sherlock. But it helps if the questions are actually useful, and not some road trip on some philosophical crap that you love to dwell on.

No-one of any importance to me directly has ever died.
But yes, I do feel something, but why should I care about them when I live?

And as for too many questions?
Life is questions. Without questions, life would be crappy, boring, decisionless, and well, the way people who don't ask questions would want it - not good.

But why should we be decent to people?
So that they can be decent back?
But then, why does decency matter?
