I've only given once. Gotta go again next Tuesday. If you're easily.. what's the word? Scared? A wuss? Then don't do it.
But there are people out there who are more afraid than you and in need of ops.

If it's your 1st time, they'll ask you a load of personal questions; mostly about who/what you've shagged.. ;) Then again, I think they ask you everytime. You just gotta read a little bit about it first.

They pr*ck (yes, that's in the damn filter!) your index finger first to test if you're anemic(sp?). It takes about a minute to wait and see.
Then you go sit down and wait - depending on how busy - you won't have to wait for long. Where I went, there weren't many people @ all.. Just a 2 minute wait.

They lay you on a bed - quite erotic - talk to you, try and distract you. Ask you to clench your hand a lot so they can find the vein. Then stick it in. I swear to you, you don't feel a thing. Obviously, you feel the tiniest bit of pressure, but that's all. Also, your fingers may feel like they're being sucked dry of blood, but it doesn't hurt! ;) Christ, part of that sounds familiar..

Takes about 15-20 minutes to take a pint. You might feel light-headed when you sit up, which is why they leave you for a further 10 minutes after it's been taken to relax. But even if you pass out, they're expecting it so there's no need to be nervous.

Afterwards, you get a drink - they recommend a cold one. And some biscuits, etc. They'll make sure you're ok, then you can leave!

Free stickers/keyrings, too!

Best of all, though, you're left with an amazing feeling. S'called being proud. So long as you don't have bad blood, you'll probably have saved someone's life! ;)

Actually.. I'm gonna record everything on Tuesday. Dunno why, just deserves it!

I used to be the same, tried to take blood from veins and couldn't get any because the had been punctured too much so the gits decided to slash my fingers instead.
