According to certain sources the CS:S update will be coming at 8pm tonight. Included are a load of improvements to game. The main improvement being the inclusion of improved Bots from the last game. Finally I will be able to play a semi-decent game on my LAN!

Any idea where its located? Also wheres the folder for custom sprays? I assume there is one. Also what format do the sprays have to be in? Cheers

Yeah I did that the first time, but Steam decided not to update the percentage acquired for a while. But its done now. Just got to wait for the offline mode to come so i dont have to connect to the net just to play a LAN game.

Copy the "steamapps" directory. I heard this works although I haven't tried it myself.

If you have a problem like that with a map then it's best to remove it and then either steam will redownload it or it will redownload from a server when it comes around in the map cycle. At least, that's what used to happen on the first CS anyway. Presumably that would still be possible...?

Hmm, well I finally got the update, but the only problem is my CS_Office map no longer works. Wont even load a small amount of it. Next problem, which is just an annoyance is that I have to install the updates on both computers in my house, which will take an absolute age. I thought I could bypass it somehow by copying across some of the files, but to no avail. Any ideas?

There's a mod out that allows you to drive a strider. Don't have a link at hand.

That episodic gaming thing sounds like the business. Valve HAVE to keep interest in steam one way or another, and keeping the HL2 community happy is a killer way of doing it. I wasn't aware of this, cheers.

It sounded like it would be episodic gaming content released through Steam, which means it could be free and not force you to shell out an extra £20 for something that provides an extra few hourse of enjoyment, which is nice.

I'd love to see the game from the perspective of the combine, or even the resistance and see the 'Revolution' as it started. Though I really would like to able to control one of those Striders, as Vavle where aparantly considering making those controllable before the release of the game.
