So it's ok folks, N Korea blew up a mountain. Because those things are a very real threat - hell, give 'em a couple million years and those things could promote glacial movements.
It's a telling day when N Korea has a more valid reason for attacking soil than we did for attacking Iraq.

Feel free to scream and shout and point out inconsistencies in a post so very carefully researched and written with academic scrutiny for facts etc etc

Good, too many of them. And they dont do a damn thing except hunker and be windswept.

Yep, just like a portion of the Amazon the size of Wales is chopped every day. Except it isn't, because the Amazon would be gone in about a month, and the manpower needed to cut down that amount of trees would be unearthly.

Perhaps "eco-warriors" could live there. That would stop evil corporations from destroying areas of forests the size of Saturn every second, and would also rid our nice green countryside of those be-dreadlocked affluent white kids that think listening to The Levellers and not washing that oversized knitty jumper for 2 weeks makes them "eco"?

Get some scruffians up a tree, that'll sort it.

Tree/mountain/desert/cave, it's all the same.

It's frightening when popular song lyrics become prophecy:

I reckon therefore, in a demonstration of power, America is going to collapse the Grand Canyon.

Once the process is perfected it'll be cheap as anything. It'll take a tiny bit of power (car battery style) to get hydrogen from water. The power produced by the hydrogen more than makes up for the energy required to produce it.

And in actual fact despite the weight of the containment system that would be required, there would be a weight saving over using conventional fuels for large passenger aircraft.

Its a win win really.

There's also the ris that if it leaks or shiznit, kaboom goes the aerojetmaplane. But Hydrogen economy = best. Shame N.Korea are bullshatting about it. T'was a hydrogen bomb that missed and hit a mountain. Either that or they're practicing before taking on every mountain in the world to make theirs the tallest.
