i'm with DW on this one.
the only reason we are inundated with rememberence reminders each and every year is because it happened to america. and why bother to only have the silence on the specific date it occurred?, it's rammed down our throats every 5 minutes anyway, why not just spend the whole year being quiet? (in some cases that'd actually be a bonus....)

Who cares about it, really? I mean, people are eager to say how horrible it was and so on but very few people actually give a damn. And I'm not one of them. So there is no use me pretending I'm really sad and begging for a minute of cyber silence because in reality I don't care.

America bombed hiroshima and killed over 200,000 people yet you don't see posts about that on the anivarsary.

Wow... has it really been three years? New York really doesn't have that much natural splendour about it (minus Central Park), they should build a little park at ground zero, not another huge building.
