His beloved Jermaine Defoe is starting for England. Let's see if he does any better then he did against the Ukraine

Good to see Robinson starting too, the further away James is from an England goal the better. Still would prefer Carlo though :-D

Robinson - Was alright. As lalalalala said, not much to do.

Carragher - "Versatile" played alright I thought, not as bad as usual.

Terry - Had a good game, another goal line clearence.

King - Also had a good game, went un-noticed really... Distribution is improving.

Cole - AWFUL today. He's one of our best players, and tonight her was dire.

Beckham - DONKEY. Can't cross. Can't do anything.

Gerrard - Quiet tonight, made some good surging runs down the wing though...

Lampard - Quiet, should have done better with a couple of long shots....

Bridge - Excellent tonight. Much better display than saturday, crossing was great, and he helped make the left hand side more solid.

Owen - Should have done better with his chances to run at defenders. Why doesn't he do that anymore....?

Defoe - The boy done good. Good goal (what was the defender doing though?) and looked very sharp.

P.S Has anyone else noticed how Owen has to run in a huge complete circle when turning. That's why he's so slow to the ball.

Class first touch or not he should not be surging through the middle, basic defending that.

Oh you mean the one he just knocked into the box and then Defoe had to turn, take on his man and score? Oh yes Beckham was so instrumental in that, he obviously just split the defence wide open. Pah

Well then how was it an excellent display? That was the point i was making

What shocking and pathetic way to worm out of my points. Obviously couldn't answer them.

Face it lad, you talk out of your a$s.

Looking forward to finding some match stats.

Yes, because every other goalkeeper known to man would have saved that goal...

> Carragher - Lost count of the amount of times he was left for dead

Yes, but you're forgetting one critical piece of information here; Jamie Carragher is rubbish. And had Neville not been injured, and we hadn't had been missing Southgate, Woodgate, Sol, Rio...etc. he wouldn't have been playing.

Happy with both. Come on the Polish forward had one touch and it was an absolutely first class one. Just a well finished goal really.

Yeah, that one he threaded in for Defoe to score got cut out and cleared to Polish safety.

Pah.

You're right. Nobody was outstanding but when playing Austria we had an outstanding player out there and we didn't win - Stevie G. Everyone mucked in, on the whole, and other than Carragher nobody was diabolical.

Hmm let's look at the team

Robinson - had nothing to do apparently yet still conceeded a goal, strange that

Carragher - Lost count of the amount of times he was left for dead

Terry - Decent display though where was he for the goal?

King - same

Cole - decent game

Beckham - like i said couldn't cross a road, virtually all of his passes got no further then the first man.

Gerrard - not one of his better displays

Lampard - decent game

Bridge - didn't do anything special

Owen - was he playing tonight?

Defoe - good game

Not one of them is striking me as having a 'excellent' game

Dead chuffed with Wales 2-2 Northern Ireland as well, Wales now played the two weakest teams and have come away with only 2 points.

Er what? I'm talking about the build up you numpty not the finishing.

If the defence were such a 'shambles' then Robinson would have had more to do than just lump balls up the pitch now and again. Fact.

> i'm just saying we were bloody lucky to come away with a win after playing like that

What a joke, we were all over them! How many chances did we have compared to them? Must be double figures! If anything it should have been 4 or 5!! Gawd.

We weren't lucky.

A satisfactory display from England against Poland = win.

Ah yes well worked by the pole to stick it in his own net for the second and i've seen primary school defenders do a better job of defending then the pole did to Defoe for the first

A better team would have tore us apart, the poles were often breaking down the wings skinning the defenders and leaving them for dead. Obviously if you think that's good defending then fair play to you

Now what are you on about? I'm happy we won, i'm just saying we were bloody lucky to come away with a win after playing like that

How many shots did the Poles have? 2? Aahahaha.
