I'll be starting my second year at Uni at the start of October. Studying English Studies, with a minor on Journalism.

Anyways, II'm due off early to "prepare" for the first years in the hall. Give 'em tours, drink, etc. Plus side is I get to experience Fresher's week for a second time. Oh yes.

As the crow flies I'm under whatever mile thing it sets. But, the journey to get there is some detour.

All unis guarantee a place in halls for first year, unless you've applied really late.

Rub it why don't you.

I couldn't get in halls because I'm apparently 'close' to Uni. And I'm poor.

what do you mean can't be bothered. Student halls is an essential experience from the first year. Allows so much more depth to the student experience andso more enjoyable. I'd at least live with some of your mates in a house next year

I'm going for second year.

Last year at home hopefully. Planning on sharing a flat with other friends from my town in Glasgow for my last two years, no help from parents so limited saved up student loan and wages will pay for it.

Currently it takes me 3 hours to travel there and back each day.

You'll be missing out on a great deal in hall life; you know, things like bringing back traffic cones for display in your room; knocking on others' doors with an airzooka in hand; stuff like that.
