"Hardening finger tips?"

Any tried and tested ways? My acousticy guitar's strings are pretty high off the frets as it is, getting rather painful to play for long.. anyone with experience in fingertip toughening etc?

Superglue and Dog Paw Hardener I've heard of, but er, anything else?

Use the old Shaolin method :

repeatedly hit harder and harder materials with your fingertips. start by filling a sack with gravel, jab your fingers into them repeatedly for 10 minute sessions every day, then move onto harder stuff and eventually hot ashes.

although it seems a bit extreme just for guitaring.

Buahaha. Parts of my hands are quite hard.

The more you play the tougher they'll get. Won't put hair on your balls though.

It really is just a case of the more you do it, the tougher it gets.
