Another free game up for grabs - best walkthrough/guide gets the prize. I'll let Silent Thunder give you the lowdown:

A walkthrough for the forums. Maybe it could help all the nice JATs and newbies by getting to know all the users. Basically you take the whole list of posters, I think the top posters for the last 30 days would be best as these guys and gals are still around and write a little guide to them. Whether it be they eat newbies or adore them and what forums they hang out in etc. It would be nothing personal like "They like chips and pizza" because well.. it's the Internet. Just a little friendly guide to all the users.

Also when ether a JAT / Newbie signs up they will probably feel slightly overwhelmed, this can easily be solved with a guide to the forums and how to get started. And where to post certain topics etc.

And like all the Extra GADs you obviously won't want it to be too serious so the guides would try to be comical and slightly 'wacky' as it were. Also improving the atmosphere of the forums to new users, if they see a serious walkthrough / guide to the users and forums they will think: boring. But seeing a funny one will make them want to stay because ukchatforums.com is a fun, friendly place.

So a summary:

> A guide to all the forums on ukchatforums.com, what to post where etc.

> A guide to the top 100 posters in the last 30 days or something a long these lines - just make sure the guide covers all the members who are still around.

> A guide / walkthrough how to get started at ukchatforums.com E.g. Introduce yourself in General Chat

You guide won't have to follow this exact structure, but gives you a good idea of what we're looking for.

Best entry will of course win a game of your choice and hopefully see your thread stickied for all to see.

this is an edit for those dumb enough to think this is a real entry - it is a joke entry.

Vampyr’s Guide to SR Forum:
I tried to put in some humour to make it interesting (apologies in advance!). No matter how boring it may seem read it ALL – coz it is more informative than Encarta and the Internet’s Lovechild. But interesting. Very fun and interesting. Like the SR forums – genius.

This is a beginners guide to this forum – I never had one *wails in despair*, but i've made one for you. *looks adoringly at something cute and cuddly*

Hello newbies and JATs. I am Vampyr, those of you who spend more time in the Sport/WWE/General Chat will come to see that I am a *cough* funny *cough * guy. I am nice to nearly everybody, but if somebody annoys me – well I shall give ‘em a piece of my mind.

See what I did there? That, not to insult your intelligence, is a nice introduction to me. If you want to become a well respected and known member of these forums, this is the sort of thing you should do on your first day in GENERAL CHAT.

General chat does exactly what it says on the tin. It is about anything, from “will bananas and cheese go together” to “me and my dad went fishing at the weekend and I caught a Prada shoe”. Here is where most people go when there is nobody in their preferred area of chat.

You will find, no matter how hard you try that you will predominantly spend most of your SR time in two or three areas of chat. Though (almost) everybody will frequent general chat, SR site and Help, and life and everything.

Here is the Vampyr’s Kwik Topic Guide –
1) General Chat – see above paragraph

2) Sport – erm, this is about all sport. Not just football

3) Sony PS1&2
4) Nintendo
5) Xbox
4) PC Gaming
These four are all about computer games (duh) and are packed full o’cheats, help, gaming discussion and all that game fans love.

6) WWE – wrestling of all kinds, not just WWE. Great for all from hardcore wrestling nuts to those who watch it now and again

7) Life and Everything (intelligent discussion) – similar to general chat but clevererer. Poetry, short stories, clever humour.

8) Movies Music Books TV – seriously doesn’t need explaining does it?

9) SR Site Bugs and Customer Service – having SR troubles, *sings to tune of “freak out”* whoa speak out. *stops singing having been shot* and all your Qs will be answered quickly and accurately with many different opinions

10) Classic Games and Consoles
11) The Future Of Gaming (Chat)
12) The Future Of Gaming (Prime Topics)
Sort of the intelligent chat of gamers. Again the names explain what the topics are about

13) Web design, PC, internet & freeola – sorry to say it again, but like Ronseal this does exactly what it says on the proverbial tin.

Dos and Don’ts
1) don’t use “txt spk” it really annoys people. They will hate you. I used to when I was a newbie. Now I don’t. Now I am very very very very popular. *cough*
2) don’t get into insult fests. You’ll end up getting banned or warned (unless its joking but be careful)
3) don’t swear. Don’t try to get round by D O I N G T H I S, or Th*s. or Thsi. Its really just Fudging St***d
4) Don’t spam. No one likes it. One idiot “sun dream team” did it, and we told him not to. He insulted us all and got banned. He was here for 3 days. What a waste!
5) Do read the rules before you start to post
6) Do be funny – (this is achieved by doing the opposite to me)
7) Do call me King Vampyr (just kidding – this is an example of 6)

That is all you need to know. Now go forth and post.
(you might find some newbie haters - just wait till u become a regular...)
