Another free game up for grabs - best walkthrough/guide gets the prize. I'll let Silent Thunder give you the lowdown:

A walkthrough for the forums. Maybe it could help all the nice JATs and newbies by getting to know all the users. Basically you take the whole list of posters, I think the top posters for the last 30 days would be best as these guys and gals are still around and write a little guide to them. Whether it be they eat newbies or adore them and what forums they hang out in etc. It would be nothing personal like "They like chips and pizza" because well.. it's the Internet. Just a little friendly guide to all the users.

Also when ether a JAT / Newbie signs up they will probably feel slightly overwhelmed, this can easily be solved with a guide to the forums and how to get started. And where to post certain topics etc.

And like all the Extra GADs you obviously won't want it to be too serious so the guides would try to be comical and slightly 'wacky' as it were. Also improving the atmosphere of the forums to new users, if they see a serious walkthrough / guide to the users and forums they will think: boring. But seeing a funny one will make them want to stay because ukchatforums.com is a fun, friendly place.

So a summary:

> A guide to all the forums on ukchatforums.com, what to post where etc.

> A guide to the top 100 posters in the last 30 days or something a long these lines - just make sure the guide covers all the members who are still around.

> A guide / walkthrough how to get started at ukchatforums.com E.g. Introduce yourself in General Chat

You guide won't have to follow this exact structure, but gives you a good idea of what we're looking for.

Best entry will of course win a game of your choice and hopefully see your thread stickied for all to see.

Closing date is 10pm on October 14th.

Good luck to all who choose to enter!

How about a walkthrough through the eyes of a newbie, (because they r usually discriminated against because they are "new", and that their opinions are considered unworthy) Basically the walkthrough could be written like a diary, from the advancement from "newbie" to "regular" and the consequential happenings in-between. This could include their findings around the forums/their attempts at reviews etc... and what they have learned in-between. Because the closing date for this competition is October the 14th, theres plenty of time to record a journal throughout this time.

I dont know whether or not this would work for myself, simply because if i were to do it, it would be an unfair account, therefore only BRAND new "newbies" could do it to be genuine. Or of course, I could make one up from my own personal experience.

As for whether or not i could be bothered to actually make this walkthrough is another thing, thats why Im suggesting it to others... So if anyone likes my idea, you r free to use it...

I thought of this idea, because everyones different, therefore just writing guidelines or rules of the forums is just boring. It would be pretty cool cos people can relate to anothers personal stories etc...

Oooooooooh, no no no no no no no...

It's the, "Welcome to the forums," posts that you get afterwards that are the worst.

It just sounds so crap, and useless, and gay and pathetic, etc.

Is it actually a good idea to get JATs to 'introduce' themselves in General Chat? Do any of us actually care?

Formatting got a bit messed up when I C+P'd it in but I tried to fix it. May still be some inexplicable spaces.
And all spelling and grammar mistakes are on purpose.

Forum Walkthrough

May be improved

If you're reading this you're probably new here.
Welcome..

Some general tips:

Don't introduce yourself in the fourm known as "General Chat" before you begin to post. It's a waste of time and no-one will appreciate it.

Post properly using the entire keyboard and no txt tlk or else you'll be crucified.

Make your posts relevant, don't post a message in order to boost your word count. Like writing SmintsRulez 148 times like some idiot did a few days ago. You'll get crucified.

If your balls haven't dropped yet don't bother posting, becasue you probably won't understand what is going on

around you and you'll evetually get crucified. Same goes for the ladies. Except the bit about the balls.

Don't brownnose (kiss ass). You'll get crucified. (Unless it's me)

Have respect for the other members.

Don't press your insane religious beliefs onto us or you may get crucified.

Guide to Forums:

Okay here is a quick guide to some of the forums that exist here.

WWE

This is a fourm for adults who should know better and boy's whose balls haven't dropped yet. They discuss wrestling in all its homoerotic joy and fakeness. They may tell you it's scripted, but you just tell them its gay.

Sony PS1 & PS2.

Keep an eye out for a guy named Jive, he'll help you out then beat you up and rob you. Also look for a guy named Neo. Stay away from people like Wakka because their balls haven't dropped yet. Discuss your favourite games, upcoming releases and general Sony info. Some names to look out for: Silent Thunder, lalakersrule and KR.

Microsoft - Xbox and Windows.

The same as the Sony forum only a Microsoft version with it's own Microsoft users.

Nintendo

See above.

PC Gaming

Discuss PC games here. Funnily enough.

Web Design, PC, Internet & Freeola

This a forum where you can talk about exciting things such as monitors, Mozilla and sound cards. Okay so it isn't really exciting but its a good forum mainly because there are people there who can help you out with problems unless you're an idiot in which case you'll be crucified. Keep an eye out for: Timmargh, Microchips, Notorious Biggles, cookie monster and phi11ip.

Future of Gaming (Chat)

This used to be like General Chat until it was murdered. No-one really goes here anymore, I wouldn't advise it either, you don't know who is around, and they mightn't even use protection.

SR Site Bugs and Customer Service.

This is where pople whinge because the staffies haven't updated GAD (I wouldn't worry as you probably won't win anything anyway), point out site errors or yap becasue something they ordered yesterday hasn't arrived yet. It's quite an amusing place. Take a trip there if your family have been wiped out in a horriffic car crash and you'll be laughing in no time.

Sport

Discusses sport. Who won the cricket, why does Micheal Schumacher always win the damn Grand Prix and how many (secretaries) did Beckham score. Look out for Azul and Grandprix.

Classic Games and Consoles.

If you are old and not senile you can come here and discuss the joys of 8 bit gaming on some Commodore. Don't look out for anyone inparticular, as no one visits.

General Chat

A forum full of random crap which most people visit. You'll probably end up living there.
Look out for Borat, mattribute, Jonathan Nash, Mystique, Tomoose, Der Nazi and everyone else.

Life and Everything (INTELLIGENT Discussion)

90% of the people that read this won't qualify for this forum, but for that other 10% I'll tell you it's where people talk about politics, abortions, the "war" in Iraq and other current affairs. Look out for: Light, Goatboy, Grix Thraves, Paradox.

Movies, TV, Music and Books:

Discusses all the above in good detail. Talk about what book you last read, what music you like, and current films.
Look out for: Bob the Moose, Very_Metal, Tiltawhirl, Flockhart and FinalFantasyFanatic.

A few words about a few members...

You'll meet a variety of people on UKchatforums, some you will like, others you will loathe will all your being. Here are a few people you might meet.

Paradox. He is in most forums and while he is not having sex is quite good to talk to. He writes poetry and stories and is easy to get along with.

Borat - Also easy to get along with. Just laugh at his jokes.

Cub!st - While talking to him, always keep your backside planted firmly against the wall. NEVER let him get behind you.

mattribute
Johnathan Nash
gerrid
Azul
FFF

You better respect these people or they will crucify you.

Mystique - Always talk about "Spiderman" near her. Always say Spiderman, NEVER say Spider-Man.

English_Bloke - If you've been naughty he'll punish you with his 10inch and knock you up good. If you resist arrest that is.. He's a police cop.

cookie monster - LOTR fanatic with a sword to prove it.

The Notables

In the old days at SR Towers, every 3 months a member who showed exceptional talent was voted a Notable. They were then initiated. This process involved having their peers urinate all over them. There are still Notables elected nowadays but now instead of the Golden Shower they are just given a urine coloured nickname. So that's what people call progress then?

Okay, my fingers are tired and your eyes are itchy.
Go have some fun, remember what I told you and try not to get crucified.
