The "Freeola Customer Forum" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
A walkthrough for the forums. Maybe it could help all the nice JATs and newbies by getting to know all the users. Basically you take the whole list of posters, I think the top posters for the last 30 days would be best as these guys and gals are still around and write a little guide to them. Whether it be they eat newbies or adore them and what forums they hang out in etc. It would be nothing personal like "They like chips and pizza" because well.. it's the Internet. Just a little friendly guide to all the users.
Also when ether a JAT / Newbie signs up they will probably feel slightly overwhelmed, this can easily be solved with a guide to the forums and how to get started. And where to post certain topics etc.
And like all the Extra GADs you obviously won't want it to be too serious so the guides would try to be comical and slightly 'wacky' as it were. Also improving the atmosphere of the forums to new users, if they see a serious walkthrough / guide to the users and forums they will think: boring. But seeing a funny one will make them want to stay because ukchatforums.com is a fun, friendly place.
So a summary:
> A guide to all the forums on ukchatforums.com, what to post where etc.
> A guide to the top 100 posters in the last 30 days or something a long these lines - just make sure the guide covers all the members who are still around.
> A guide / walkthrough how to get started at ukchatforums.com E.g. Introduce yourself in General Chat
You guide won't have to follow this exact structure, but gives you a good idea of what we're looking for.
Best entry will of course win a game of your choice and hopefully see your thread stickied for all to see.
Closing date is 10pm on October 14th.
Good luck to all who choose to enter!

The quotes MADE that paragraph.
Goatboy gets my vote!
Welcome Newbie.
There are rules and regs javascript:myopen('http://ukchatforums.com/forumrules.php','rules','toolbar=no,location=no,directories=no,status=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=yes,resizable=no,copyhistory=no,width=550,height=450') so read them and don't be an ass.
General Chat
The paddling pool. Dip a toe and avoid the floaters. Of which there are many. Chat will range from some rubbish about what you had for school dinner to "Blow u away wiv my gun". Topics here generally will make your parents weep with the degree of illiteracy and sheer lack of depth. Expect lots of topics with words like "W00t" and "R0xx0r" in the title.
Nintendo
Take a wild guess what's in here. Colourful, bouncy, kiddy-friendly. All the things that make Nintendo the sticklebrick-console it is. All corners have been padded off and drinks served in plastic beakers.
Enjoy
Life & Everything
For the more advanced poster who is able to string words into sentences and has the capacity for abstract thought.
Also, if you are an ansty teen worried that he'll never touch a boob or thinks the world is coming to an end and cries about being depressed then post away.
Word of Caution: If you're going political, then make sure you know your stuff or you'll have your pants pulled down and spanked in front of the whole class. Just ask Belldandy when he returns from his self-imposed exile of Tom Clancy and nachos.
Movies, Music
Bet you can't guess what the flavour is here.
ps - Your music taste is probably wrong, we can help. Try Otis Redding and Leadbelly for starters.
Microsoft, Xbox & Windows
Xbox basically. Decent talk and some mild-hair pulling about which game "is da best". Oh, and no Morrowind isn't Live Enabled. And nobody cares if you "fink da PS2 is da best", so don't bother.
Sony
As above, but with lots of GTA talk.
Web Design
Brainiacs, Pointdexters and Haxx0rs!!!! welcome. Breath in the aroma of motherboards and vaguely unsettling trekkies.
Sport
Talk. About sport. Surprisingly. If you worship grown men kicking a ball around for thousands of pounds a week, then post away. Or if you simply feel a stirring at the Russian Gymnasts in Athens this year and want to share your feelings. Just feelings mind.
WWE
Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.Not gay.
Classic Games
Pfffft.
--------
As for users?
Notables are held upon high and worshipped as Dionysian Gods. Except for the last 5 (apart from Timmargh, who is our specialist Notable ever).
Regulars are the meat and gravy of the forums.
Newbies are generally regarding with scorn. Consider it an initiation ceremony to have screaming webmongs call you "gay" and "a woman", get over it.
DO's
Post interesting or amusing stuff.
Offer Goatboy naked pictures of your (over 16) sister.
Laugh at Belldandy (it's ok, even the staff do)
Shout about which console will "win"
Engage in debates and, when on the defensive, suggest that your opponent is "a hommo" and "takes it up the ass". This will ensure a moral highground.
Don'ts
Post crap about your dog eating it's own sick
Spam
Endlessly quote posts at length
Be Belldandy
The End.

Hurrah for me.
