Sky sports has just claimed that newcastle have made a bid of just over 20 mill for Wayne Rooney!

Could it be another shock move for this summer of wacky departures?

Glad if it happens, I don't think rooney is worth all his hype but he could try to live up to it at a top club like Newcastle!

I hope this happens! might also give everton a chance of surviving too.

Just read report from Bobby Robson saying Man U can't afford Rooney even if they wanted to, had to laugh. I think they could get him if they really wanted but don't want to risk it. As a Toon fan the majority up here think it would be good business to get him. And what about the strikers we have all ready? Sure we have a top class striker in Shearer, bellamy and Kluivert. And we have up and coming strikers in Ameobi and Chopra. So the question remains why is Newcastle after another striker when we clearly need another Defender? I say get Gallas from Chelsea and Ledley King and start worrying about out strikers when they stop performing, not before.

With the new contracts he keeps signing with the FA, it's not like he'd have any problems doing so - if, of course, he doesn't own accomedation over there already! :P

After the Faria Alam stuff, althought he has hinted at it, I'm quite surprised he hasn't demanded another pay-rise already...

This is crazy. Into his seventies, I think Bobby Robson has, very well and truly, lost it!

Why spend £20m on Wayne Rooney - all you recived from Woodgate's sale and more - when you already have Alan Shearer, Craig Bellamy, Patrick Kluivert and other youngsters coming through!?

Surely, some of that £14m-or-so should be going on a new defender?
(And, again, I must stress at how surprised I am to see not even one Premier League club having made a move for Greek Euro 2004-hero Dellas!)


Then again, Sir Bobby (Robson) has stressed he has absolutely "no comment" to make on Wayne Rooney - perhaps this is all being done behind his back!? :o

i reckon he maybe at chelsea next season if drogba fails. Roman's been tapping him up for a while. Just the little things like chatting to him after matches......and lending him his personal plane so he can get home!

I can't see him coming to Newcastle, we've got too many strikers as it is.

It will be good for your national team. Look at the world Champions Brazil with thier players are all over Europe.
