well here's a lil update as to my FWA mischief...
today (after the infamous FWA "warmup" and a round of bumps) we were doing match drills. for those who aren't sure, that's basically a sequence of moves that will normally prime the workers for a rest hold (mat headlock or similar).
first off we started learning the basic moves we'd need, which was an armdrag, hiptoss, shoulderblock and leapfrogging a running opponent.
The drills were fairly fluid and consisted of the following sequence:
lockup -> left side headlock (rest hold)
push off onto the ropes -> shoulderblock (brief rest)
off the ropes(1), jump the lying opponent
off the opposite ropes(2), duck the leapfrog
back off the (1) ropes and take a hiptoss
boy did THAT hurt after a few times :)
last week we were doing mostly mat wrestling so to go in today and come out knowing a fairly good set of basic moves was really cool :)
they're a good bunch of guys and quick to help each other out which is cool and aside from a dude who's having real hassles getting anything down (even simple things like breakfalls :S ) it's all going pretty well!!
now if you'll excuse me i have to go put some ice on my upper arm (he can't get armdrag setups right either ;) ) and have a shower!

No wait 25%.

hehe, deal! :)
i've made up a sweet finisher yeah, but am not at the stage where i'm confident enough to try it out yet, maybe in a month or so.
Ya start them off in a dragon sleeperhold (standing, with them arched back with their head in a reverse headlock) then hoist them by the waist up and pull them over your shoulder, once they're past the vartical position and on their way down, your arm supports under their chin (like in a stunner) and you fall with them until you hit the deck. back bump for you, front bump for them. It's essentially an RKO with a sweet looking setup but it doesn't hurt very much to take one (front bump) and it's fairly simple, just looks savage :)
i wanna steal this move as well:

Made up your own finisher yet?
Are you looking to do any thing with FWA or are you just going for the training?
last week: learnt a shedload of mat moves, some shoot wrestling (that stuff is SAVAGE!!, i really enjoyed it :) ) holds, reversals, etc
today: loads of those cool roll-up/pin moves, like the step-over one and the small package. did armdrag drills and polished the move up a bit and then.. and this i was most impressed with, i learnt to sunset flip :)
i didn't think i'd be any good at the acrobatic side of things, but it turns out i'm not too bad at somersaulting/flipping/etc.. so that's a brucie bonus!
right, now i have to quickly whack some new strings on my guitar and i gots another gig tonight...
fare thee well everyone!!
