Reading one of the sunday rags today and came across the story of David Gill telling Fergie that there is no cash available to buy new players. Now i know the United board are tighter then a Jewish Scot so shouldn't come as a surprise but what? How in the hell do United, one of the richest clubs in the world (mainly because we hardly bloody spend anything on the levels of the rest of the major teams) become unable to be able to buy players because they're a bit skint?

Incase the idiot Gill hasn't realised it yet there's a kind of injury crisis going on at United at the moment, last time i checked we were calling up the young superstar from our kindergarten team, and we still haven't got a creative midfielder which is very much needed. Had we actually got one which i said we should have all pre-season then Giggsy could have played behind Smith in that bloomin 4-4-1-1 Fergie loves so much and the problem wouldn't be so bad. But because the very thought of spending the cash makes the board members cower behind their desks here we are, using O'Shea in the centre of midfield and putting Smithy in goal (well maybe not that bad)

Already we're playing catch up and unless the players suddenly heal miraculously in the next couple of days we'll probably drop a few more points as well (a 2-1 win over Norwich is not good enough) so cut the crap Gill, get that chequebook out and buy somebody, hell get yourself a striker and a midfielder and then United may stand a chance this season, until then it's going to either Arsenal or Chelsea.

God the sooner the Tampa Bay Bucs owner buys all the shares the better.

i'm not having a go at you in particular but it always seems to be man utd fans bitching about roman (probably cos there are so many of them!)

You forget Saha. Ok he was before the tax, and financial year ended. But its not the way the board look at it, Saha was bought for this season too.

whilst i notice you coyly said last 2 years, if you increase that to 2.2 years. you have to factor rio in and thats another 32 mill only spent two years ago. with the exception of chelsea and real you beat nearly everyone for spending over the last 2 and a tiny bit years.

Sorry do you mind finding me a post from myself saying that Roman is spoiling the game? Good luck seeing as i've been one of the few on his side saying it's his money he can spend it the hell he likes. As we've seen in most sports, money does not buy success.

How much have we spent in the last two years? Around 30 million. Now seeing as we're meant to be 'one of the biggest clubs in the world' that's a pittance when you consider how much the club generates, surely more can be used for transfer funds. We've spent just 12 million this season on Smithy who's doing well, and Heinze who hasn't even bloody shown up yet. Now considering we've just had our worst season since the Prem began that's hardly a step forward. We need at least a creative midfielder and now Solksjaer looks like his career is over we'll need another striker as well. Where's the money? It's there but why isn't it being used? That's what i'm complaining about.

Haven't you spent more money than anyone bar since the prem began chelsea?

I would hardly call the fees of: ferdinand, Veron, Van nistelrooy, Saha, Smith, Forlan, Heinze, Taibi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kleberson, Djemba, Bellion (yes you payed over 2 mill for him at tribunal). Thats nearly 150 mill straight off. Thats a season of a half of abramovich in the last 3 years or so and thats just the players i can think of.

I hate Man utd fans for this. They are ALWAYS the first to claim roman is spoiling the game yet forget the obscene amounts of money you have spent. Ok so you have had some large sales as well but your revenue has been traditionally higher due to former glories.

Next time man utd fans want to moan about money look at how much you have spent!
