Just out of personal interest I was wondering if anyone used to watch this. It held a 9:30 slot on Channel4 on a friday or something.

I've never actually seen it but it sounded all right and my mate has the DVDs, so I was gonna borrow them off her after she's watched them.

Worth it?

I've seen some Dylan Moran stand up and I'm finding it hard to see how that will work in a scripted comedy?

The most recent series was pretty good, I thought: The episode where thety tried to write a kids' book was classic. The fatal flaw? It was over 1,000 pages long and inscluded a lot on Stalin's purges. Plus Bill Bailey looked hilarious dressed up as a worm.

The Third series conflicted with my social life but I will get the DVD.

Bill Baily playing the Piano with spoons... legendary.

loved the First Series, same with the second as someone mentioned the 'piano' episode which was great. Didn't watch much of the Third as the opening episodes got pretty familar and crap

The writers of 'Father Ted' decided to quit-while-they-were-ahead, and so, they ended it after 3 series.

Still, can't remain on this planet forever. "ain't dat right, Ted?"

Black Books is a realy fantastic modern day comedy.

Dylan Moran (Shaun of the Dead) is fantastic.

Yes watch the first two series'..

Second series was only slightly weaker... though the piano episode remains one of my favourites.

No, he died just after they finished filming it. Then they put up a montage of pictures of him as a dedication.
