"Alien exposition required"

I was rewatching Aliens today and for what must be the millionth time I told myself I must get around to watching Alien3 and Resurrection. I've always held back because I love the first two movies and I've been repeatedly told that the next 2 are, for want of a better word, crap.

But I'd like to know what happens in them. So could someone tell me the plot of Alien3 and Alien:Resurrection?

Alien 3 - The survivors of the last film, still in hibernation on the Marine ship, are ejected in a pod after a fire, landing on a remote prison planet. Ripley is the only survivor, save for a face hugger that came along with her. It attaches itself to a dog creating a dog alien which, bearing more in common with the first film, stalks the inmates and Ripley until the final climatic conclusion where they try to kill the thing, having no weapons of their own.

Alien Ressurrection - Ripley (having died in Alien 3) is cloned from DNA found at the prison planet, on a ship which houses many imprisoned aliens who are being used as experiments. They escape killing off most of the crew leaving the cloned Ripley and a bunch of mercenary types who came aboard for some dodgy dealings. Not bad, until it gets to the stupid human/alien hybrid.
