But I'd like to know what happens in them. So could someone tell me the plot of Alien3 and Alien:Resurrection?

It did have expressive eyes though.
Oh and the fourth film has Brad "THE plan" Dourif in.
But Alien3 has Paul McGann in? Excellent. I shall now watch it and expect Withnail to lean over a spaceship wall while McGann is facing off against an Alien and instruct him to run at it and show no fear.
Alien - Puppet alien, pretty good
Aliens - more puppet aliens, but done really pant-shittingly well
Alien3 - CGI and super-imposition. Baaa-a-aaaad.

The film itself is interesting and you should endeavour to watch the "producers cut" which is an extended version of Fincher's original. The only problem with the extended cut is that the actors were not available/willing to provide ADR (the additional voice recording that actors do to dub the film) so many of the extended scenes have a wierd hiss eminating as the actors speak. This is more noticeable in scenes where there is new footage spliced with the old. Also the producer's cut changes the host for the Alien from a Rottwieler to an Ox, which means that the "Dog" Alien who subsequently runs riot for the rest of the film seems out of place.
However I really enjoy watching Alien 3 and think that it is a great film that people dislike because it is very dark (literaly and metaphoricaly) throghout.
Alien 4 is virtually the same in either version. It's entertaining and the extras are good, if only to hear Winona Ryder state on camera that she readily helped herself to film set props, whenever she got the chance.
However she never stole one scene that she was in from the other actors...
Except maybe that bit in 3 where the guy loses half of his skull.
Resurrection wasn't so bad though, but nowhere near as good as the first two.
Alien = John Hurt and Harry Dean Stanton
Aliens = Michael Biehn, Bill Paxton and weasely Paul Reiser
Alien 3 = Brian Glover, Paul McGann and Charles Dance
You can see the difference. It's like a Tetley advert with xenomorphs.
The DVD is very interesting though, particularly the documentaries that show what might have been had the studio not interfered. Among the many possibilities for the story was a manmade wooden planet populated by space monks, complete with its own atmosphere. It sounds mental, but the concept art looked ace. It would have been better than what they ended up with, which was a big CGI dog with space rabies.
Alien Resurrection is cool because it's got Ron Perlman and the dwarf from Delicatessen in it. And a totally unnecessary basketball scene.
My mate says it's crap, but he's wrong.
Alien Resurrection = bad.
