I was rewatching Aliens today and for what must be the millionth time I told myself I must get around to watching Alien3 and Resurrection. I've always held back because I love the first two movies and I've been repeatedly told that the next 2 are, for want of a better word, crap.

But I'd like to know what happens in them. So could someone tell me the plot of Alien3 and Alien:Resurrection?

Way less far fetched than that wooden planet/space ship inhabited by monks rubbish!

The William Gibson's Alien 3 Script is awesome. Perhaps a little far-fetched with the infection coming from airborne spores, but god damn man, if i can read that for a few solid hours totally engrossed it must be excellent.

For Alien 5 I'd love to see Ripley's DNA become corrupted by the Alien DNA (she is now half Alien remember) and turn into a full Alien Queen!!! What a great irony that would be...Ripley herself becomes the mother of the species (and not use that god-awful Newborn again).

Vincent Ward and John Fasanos screenplay. Basically Snow White with a chameleonic Alien. I would have loved to see this version (Twohys (Pitch Black) is really entertaining too) but the concept is *way* to the leftfield.

Interestingly, the concept of Alien3 suffers from the "must give them something new" problem. The second script expands on William Gibsons able to absorb anything bioweapon idea, and turns the idea into The Thing in rural American. With Aliens. Only on a space station. It's *bizarre* (and crap)

H.R. Giger hates what Hollywood has done to his alien, turning it from the humanoid type creature it was in the firs**t two films to a more animal like alien.

He particularly didn’t like the aliens in Resurrection saying something like "they've turned it into a piece of sh*t, literally a piece of sh*t" which is kind of true, the queen in particular in Resurrection looks like a giant t*urd.

I like Resurrection more than Alien 3, though it’s s**till nowhere near as good as Ridley Scott and James Cameron’s Alien movies. It’s more of an action movie than anything else, lots of CGI aliens jumping about the place while formulaic characters get offed one by one, watchable up until that s**tupid looking hybrid alien.

Sort of, they use more like an undulating body motion.

I don't care what anyone says, the extended edition of Alien 3 is a good film. The 45 minutes or so of extra footage rounds it all up and fills in the blanks. Sure, it's still nowhere near as good as Aliens, but I'd rather watch Alien 3 than Resurrection.

Catch the extended edition, ignore the theatrical one. And see Resurrection just for Ron Perlman.

I haven't seen alien 3 but I'd definately recommend resurrecttion. Its not scary but the cgi is quite good and if you want that modern alien feel then it is also good. It sort of reminds me of deep blue sea in the water section. Anyway pretty good movie that you should watch :P
By the way that alien at the end looks soooo incredibly s**t
