I want something that is functional, but not particularly brilliant as it isnt going to be a games machine - I will be using it solely for work as will want the basic programmes - MS Office, Web Browser & capabilities (inc network card and ethernet connection, UBS or PS/2 connection for a mouse, enough room for plenty of files (probably between 10 and 20 gb) disk drive & writer and the other basics.
As I am not going to want to run anything fancy on it, I assume the specs for the machine will be lower and as such it will be cheaper.
I currently have a budget of around £400 but I can muster about £800 before I go to uni.
Can someone please give me a basic idea of the sort of specs I will need and the price range I am looking at. Also any decent retailers (on and offline)
Thanks a lot.
