Seems like the crew at IGN.com really aren't taking to the game. Which is a massive shame as I was really looking forward to it:

I loved Lylat Wars, the best way to pass a quick hour inbetween other things.


I had a feeling thid would turn out rubbish as soon as I heard it featured 'on foot' sections. Infact, I remember posting about it and how I wished they'd just made Lylat Wars with better graphics, bigger levels and new enemies.

So, IGN complained that it was too much like the N64 game, but with better graphics and a new mode, plus the decent 2 player mode...er...what were the bad points again?

Those freeroaming levels against Starwolf were just so excellent and replayable. Imagine how good it could be on the GC, with hundreds of fighters on either side, it would just be immense. The thing about it was that it was never the same. The rest of the levels, the enemis appeared at the same times, and that's generally what we get from games these days, but it was almost like a sports game in its unpredictablity level.
