For starters, let me say i hate this new way to name the leagues. Calling them Division 1, 2 and 3 made alot more sense. None the less...

Its nearly that time again! The season for us lot kicks off next weekend, after, for me, what seemed like a long summer, and i for one cant wait for the season to start.

As always, i have my season ticket and im pretty confident of what The Owls can achieve this season, im just hoping this season can be the one where the rot stops, and we gain promotion. We have a whole new team almost. We released 15 players last season, and signed 11 this, including ex Southampton captain Chrissy Marsden, and then a squad of good young players who all look the part to go with him

We have 2 friendlies left against the Bolton and Everton, and in our previous friendlies we have looked good.

I know there are a number of you lot who support teams in the lower leagues, so lets not let this forum be over run by Premiership talk and such. After all, our clubs are just as important as the bigger clubs.

So what are your hopes and fears for the new season? Who you looking forward to playing the most?

Up the Owls!!

See you in 2 weeks, or will you be armchair-ing it as per usual?

;^P

3 - 1 tonight, been unlucky of late but things starting to look better. 3 points on Saturday home to Canvey and a Barnet thrashing and we'll be right back up there.

Good performance. Bad result.

Rather disappointed....

Nigel Clough got a standing ovation from the home crowd as well when he came on for Burton, which was nice.

We werent that bad yesterday, hammered them in the first half, could have had 6, but didnt take them and went in at ht 1 down, and we never looked like scoring in the second half. The reason he went was, after deciding to release 14 players at the end of last season, bringing in 11 new players, who do look better, but there just hasnt been any progress. He had to go.

But 10 managers now in 10 years. Its shocking.

Its about time we stopped going for the cheap option, gambled, and went in for someone good enough to take us back where we really do belong. There are plenty of names id like...Stan Ternent is currently being spouted about, and theres no way i want him.

Gary Megson, an Owls legend, an Owls fan, and he still lives in Sheffield. He is suppose to be on his way out at WBA so i have heard, and would love him to come in.

Its not gona happen i dont think...but christ...we can do better than Ternent or Paul Sturock, Craig Brown ect...

Not a happy Owl.

And Wigan didn't have Neil Roberts up front, we did, and he scored, we rule! And him too.

Yep, just caught that on the BBC sports page. Still waiting for full story though. Did they play badly or have they just had enough of him?

Any idea who you'd like next?
