The people who are left to review games, I.e. those old enough to understand and rate games on their content rather than just their aesthetics can actually be quite good at reviewing. One gamer reviewed a Star Trek game on the Pc and made a very good effort explaining how average it was despite having a good, if a little dated graphics engine.
His opinions however where quashed by the overwhelming stupidity of the two “think as a plank of wood” presenters who ignored what the reviewer just said and rated the game with the converted 4 G’s because it graphics where, you know, well good.
Other shows are no better. Gamepad is deeply annoying, about 6 months out of date it still repeats shows that preview games that where released a month or two back, and Violet Berlin is an irritating presenter, annoying voice and stupendously annoying ‘jokes’. Gamer TV is better, though the presenter who narrates doesn’t sound like he’s much of a gamer, no passion whatsoever. And Cybernet, once quite a decent show, now it’s pretty guff. An annoying voice guy who sounds like the over active Yank from “the planets funniest animals” with the least trustworthy reviews in any TV programme.
The great thing about Gamesmaster was not the (late) reviews, the (old) tips, but the whole thing in general. Adult presenters, interesting challenges, a wicked sense of humour, and most importantly the show was not geared up to purely kids tv. Remember, back then gaming was nowhere near as popular, if you were into games as a kid back then you were in a small minority.
But I'd like to remind you all that Gamesmaster was actually completely rubbish. It was attrocious.
Gamepad 3/2/1 isn't all that great either, because it's just loads of boring video clips with Violet berlin (who in the world thought that people would like to listen to her voice or see her face on television?) talking aimlessly, and with difficulty, over the top.

I agree with the GamerTv comment, but I frankly find gamepad a bit annoying, that woman presenter doesn't know the half about games.
