Why have Stevie as captain. Don't you realise captaincy doubles the players score. Stevie doesn't score too often and therefore isn't a worthwhile captain.

Stevie shall always stay. He's favourite to be awarded the captain's armband for Maniche Alexandra at the moment, but Joe Cole and Djibril Cisse have also staked a claim. If space is made for The Owen then he'll also be in contention.
Of course, if Arsenal sign Maniche, then he becomes red-hot favourite, seeing as the very fibre of the club is dedicated to the man.

Hope so, i'll see how he does for the first few weeks then decide on whether to get rid of him or Stevie

Never!!!! the power of the plasters shall be with us for the whole season (plus i was able to drag myself out of my lazy state to make my team once, i doubt i'll be able to do it again to make transfers, i'll have probably forgotten all about the league within a few days anyway :-D)
