Hey! Yes I do! Look at me, I'm scary!
Boo! Wah! Bleeeeeugh!
Quake with fear, da Wookiee's here! Go on, run away!
Oh... bother - I give up.
Without them gaming might be a little limited.
Haven't monsters gotten much more clever over the years in gaming. I remember the old 8-bit games in which they would move in set patterns, and you could just walk right by them if you timed it right.
There's none of that today.
Artificial Intelligence is to blame.
they take our beloved 2d monsters, basically stupid creatures, and easy to defeat, and turn them into this things that are actually capable of giving chase!
There's no more waiting for it to move in a certain way then jumping over it. It'll see you, and go after you. You'll have to kill it.
I wonder if gaming would be quite as popular as it is today if it wasn't for the advances in technology that have come about over the last decade or so?
Imagine we were all still playing on our NES' and Sega Master Systems.
Imagine hardware hadn't advanced. Surely developers would have pushed these machines to their very limits, and the popularity of gaming would then fall, as nothing new could be offered.
But I stray from the point a little, monsters.
in real life, I wouldn't worry about them.
They don't exist.
It's the demons you should fear.
Especially those that live within.
And the little ones don't kill but cause pain.
Come on grow up! Monsters! Tsk tsk!
