Saw Columbia - Venezuela last night and it struck me just how different it was to European football!
One strange thing I noticed was unlike European players, the South Americans consistently curl balls in with the outsides of their feet. I never see that in Europe, apart from Deco and Zidane every so often.
The defending was bizarre. Instead of tactical positional play, Columbia just put everyone behind the ball and closed everything down. Strange, but it worked.
Looks good for the rest of the tournament! Who are Argentina playing today?

Saw both the games - Peru v Bolivia was far superior to the Colombia game. It was just class.
If all the games are like that, then this tourney shall be damn good. I thought the Colombia game was quite crap, though. And it was never a penalty...
