Saw Columbia - Venezuela last night and it struck me just how different it was to European football!

One strange thing I noticed was unlike European players, the South Americans consistently curl balls in with the outsides of their feet. I never see that in Europe, apart from Deco and Zidane every so often.

The defending was bizarre. Instead of tactical positional play, Columbia just put everyone behind the ball and closed everything down. Strange, but it worked.

Looks good for the rest of the tournament! Who are Argentina playing today?

Aimar, Veron, Crespo, Samuel, Cladio Lopez...probably more

Most of the teams never use full squads for the copa america, especially europeon based players. Brazil are missing a load too. Probably down to most of them starting pre-season training with thier clubs soon.

PARAGUAY 1-0 COSTA RICA - yeyness. 86th minute penalty.

Also, Brazil 1-0 Chile, with a 90th minute strike from Luis Fabiano.

How come Aimer wasn't playing? I still think he's still a decent player.

D'alessandro is class, very creative. I remember him being linked with us not long ago, would love him to come over. Still young but he can open up defences for fun.

Heinze looked decent aswell, strong and mobile - hopefuly he does well for us alongside Rio.

These teams are beginning to look different now, the players we are all used to have become old and it seems its time for the next generation. Feels wierd, makes me think that im old.

No idea, but he does look good.

D'alessandro's goal was class, and his chip pass for the last goal was superb. Who needs Veron/aimar?

Argentina, the favourites were so class last night. Who is Rosales? Who does he play for? Never heard of him before but he seems a very good winger.

I watched a bit last night it's a bit sloppy and lacks atmosphere..

Although I might watch Brazil now and again cos Edu is in the team.

Just saw the Peru game, what a goal by Palacios.

Mexico - Uruguay will be good. That's on first at 11.30 so I might not bother with Argentina - Ecuador, just can't be bothered.
