Is dangerously addictive, almost impossibly deep, and is a truly marvellous management spectacle.

It is also frustrating beyond words, often truly ridiculous and is a cause of premature mental instability.

I love Football Manager '05

Thank you.

I'm thinking of starting over, anyway now, with a lower league team. As I started from the demo, only the English league is selected - but I'll certainly keep those player names in mind.

Or Jan Lastuvka, who is already amazing at 20 in the game.

You want Sebastian Saja or Rensing. Both class, and Rensing is young (19 or so) and Saja is only 26 at the start.

Meh. Never afford him. There are too many other class defenders for less. For Kompany's price, I could get Chivu and Bovo at the start. World Class Defenders.

Get your Assistant (Quieroz) to sort 'em out. Manager > Options.

That's what I do anyway, he usually gets 5-6 pre-seasons, and I then usually cancel I couple.

Also, Bierofka is class RLM, for £450,000. Cheap as f***, and worth over £20,000,000 at the moment (2007) for me (United).

Top by 1 point with a game in hand, Chelsea have 5 games to go, behind me. Hopefully, they'll keep drawing. But yah. It's looking good... Gotta play Inter too. 2-0 advantage, but they have Adriano back. He regularly scores 5 against me...

Dida perhaps?

He's been my first signing ever since I got the game. Brilliant utility and consistent D/DMC

Offer them a small amount of money. They expect it from big clubs.

That's happened to me before. Just have to tough it out and make an inspired change in the line up.

I can't see Meka's post, so hopefully this will work.

*Test*

It didn't. I still can't see it.

:(

EDIT:

Somehow I ignored him, but I never ignore anyone.

Just finished my first season as Man Utd. If it wasn't for Ruud scoring 4 in the FA Cup final, Alan Smith would have been my top scorer with 33. Ruud trumped him with the last game to end on 35. Saha also got over 25 goals, but Rooney only 16.

Pretty much changed the entire back line - Chelsea came in for Rio, I got Gallas in part exchange plus 16 million. Signed Downing, and he's been great when Giggsy's knackered. Got Dede in goal, but he's not as good as expected. Signed Kompany too, as I sold Wes Brown to Barcelona. End of the season I signed Lahm, and got Xabi Alonso from Liverpool - they also took Djemba-Djemba off my hands.

Couldn't get many pre-season games booked - teams kept rejecting my offers, so I only played three games beofre the Community Shield - and Arsenal thrashed me 7-0! Only managed 2 shots on target. Lost the first game of the season 1-0 at Liverpool, and hardly managed a shot again. After winner the league with 92 points in my first season, it's a shocking start.

Worst game last season, in Champions League Quarter Final, after winning 2-1 in Milan, they beat me 2-0 at Old Trafford. They went 1-0 up, so I tried to shut them out, and they scored in the last minute. Gutted.

Torres is on 30 goals so far 30 games. Nistelroy's scored 27 in 28. Miccoli has had a pretty woeful season (by his standard), only 16 goals in 24 goals. Podolski scored 8 in 16, and C. Ronaldo's got 9 in 24. Not bad.

6 games to go 'til the end of the season. Come on...

Tied him down to a new 5 year deal now too :)
