Credit cards are evil. Already owe around a grand for DVD's and games over the last few months and now with a new BARCLAYCARD bash up with 13 months 0% finance I have once again gone too far. Picked up a 17" Phillips TFT monitor with TV, a wireless keyboard and mouse, a new glass and silver stand for all my PC shiznits, a 2.1 system just for PC stuff and Far Cry on the PC.

This was all from someone who wondered into Leeds to get a few bottles of Lemon Fanta and a couple of DVD's. The evil nature of credit cards can be highlighted here, I am weak and when they sing my name I can't help but play along.

The trouble is with the fact that taking the cards and hiding them is no good anymore as I know the numbers off by heart, down to the security code and expiry dates on 3 separate cards. I am in trouble, oh boy is the shiznits going to hit the fan when the postman comes in a few weeks time.

The fact is though, they are evil things.

Yeah, instead of covering all the general crap like you do at A-Level you cover all the programming aspects, Java and C++ are two of the modueles covered in my 2 year course and at the end you can be classed as a fully qualified programmer in the two languages mantioned. The HNC stands for Hire National Certificate and it is basically degree level although afterwards you can go on and do another 2 years in a HND which is the highest qualification availble outside of doing a full UNI course.

Instead of tossing around with A-levels and UNI I wanted to grab a job in the programming area as a trainee which I managed back in February. You had to be 18 to do the course however because I have done an access course prior (HTML level 3) and because I work with Java and Progress where I work they were willing to work around it.

Computer Software Design?

When did you start doing that? And without sounding like too much of a retard - whats a HNC?

Certainly the money in the public sector as a contractor is good.A mates brother was on £70k per 3 month contract with the MOD. And they wonder why they have cost overruns...

12k isn't that far off and that is just now.

My brother is 23, drivers around in a brand new X3 Convertable with all the shiznits and is currently contracting for the NHS earning 80k a year for database administration and development. It gets worse as you earn more which is ultimately my aim. Once I have finished my HNC in Computing Software Design with all the stuff I have done in-between with my current job and what not I am looking at going far up ASAP.

Money drives my ambition which is a bad thing really.

It could be worse. You are young and won't be earning that much - hence you won't have a stupid credit limit of twelve grand or so. That's diamond ring territory.
