Excuse me, what ?
My understanding is simple, that only happens if they are equal on points and on goals scored, as it is, they went out because denmark had scored more goals, if italy had got another 3 (I think) they would have gone through.
Because Italy drew 1-1 against Sweden and Denmark drew 2-2, they were always going to make it.

If all teams were on the same points then a new table gets drawn out including games only played against teams on the same points. Hence any goals italy scored agaisnt bulgaria dont count in this table.

ÂLÂS
I seem to remember putting "after that point" when talking about Gerrard and James. Can other members clarify that part of my post did actually process?
I wasn't talking about Heskey at that point was I? We were talking about the reasons for England's loss. Heskey was not the sole reason we lost.
I was speaking earlier to my brother; if that game finished 2-2 (which it did), then theoretically, if Italy won 10-0, wouldn't that Goal Difference be enough to send them through?
How does that work or have I misread the situation?
I forgot about latvia.
Euro can be funny sometimes. Who thought the danes would have won it in 92?
