Nintendo's new media player "Play Yan" Launched yesterday in Japan, and a cool feature was also revealed

The Play Yan media player, which allows music and movie playback on the GBA and DS, launched in Japan yesterday. Along with it, Nintendo opened a new section of their Play Yan site

Looks pretty cool.

Panasonic "Q" - sub contracted out by Nintendo. Opps, we forgot the DVD. Lets sub it out to Panasonic.

Surely this is just Nintendo putting it's hands up and admitting once again they were wrong. The Nintendo Q machine ring a bells.

Why not just buy a PSP instead. It's all ready got this technology. Some will claim this spoils the idea of a games machine, but Nintendo at least feel they might loose some customers to Sony PSP for not having these features. Like I said before, left upto Nintendo on their own, it would have taken years longer to get anything like a DS to market. If sony PSP did not offer the extra multimedia technology built in, I am sure Nintendo would not have produced this add on technology for their DS.

The mp3 stuff is good.
The movie stuff is terrible.

Might pick it up, seeing as you can get carts up to 1G
