And it's mine!

A bank robbing/general heist game. Each different level is a different set-up that requires you to infiltrate different locations, avoid/take out guards, set up electronics, lay traps and bluffs, shimmy through air vents, avoid laser beams, all in the style of Oceans Eleven.

Just imagine how cool a game like that could be. Breaking into a casino vault. Choosing five men to take part, all with different abilities eg. small chinese guy fits through vents, big knucklehad knocks out guards, dweeby guy is good with electronics, pickpocket can steal keys and paperwork, charming guy can distract people... it's a classic waiting to happen. Add several different ways to complete each break-in and you've yourself a winner. You could even break up different heists into different locations by nicking bits of equipment from elsewhere.

Nick the best bits from Splinter Cell, throw in a bit of M:I-style action (lowering yourself through air vents etc.), a few Bond-style gadgets and you've got a class-A game. Obviously the game would have to be fairly difficult, and you'd fail the first few times, but once you get to learn people's routines, find passwords and codes, disguise yourself as key employees etc. you learn each level.

Man, this game would rule. Like Splinter Cell but set in Vegas without Michael Ironside. All ideas are copyrighted to me, mofos. As far as I know, a game like this has never been created, that focuses solely on the break-in side of things, so it'd be fairly fresh and original.

And yes, I did just watch the Parole Officer.

And to make it work, I believe there's one thing that'd really need to be spot on for this sort of game to work.

A crafty storyline.
Like Ocean's 11. It needs to be really perfect to work at all.

Hmmm, i was sort of picturing the game a bit like a team based thing but you control one character at a time until you reach a certain check point, then you switch to the next character who is key to the heist, when you reach their goal, you switch to the next, then at the end you get a screen with loads of cameras showing you each characters movements and showing you the heist in all of its glory.

So a Desert Storm type AI/player combination? I reckon that'd work. Although it might be interesting if you made it so the AI was effective up to a point, whereas your input would be far better. So, you could leave the AI to do something, but to be safe you'd have to do a lot yourself. Otherwise you'd just set all the less interesting jobs on AI and go and zip wire into the vault yourself.

It'd have to have an extremely cinematic feel. Especially if you're in like an embassy like at the start of MI - all those socialites/gamblers/etc, and you'd be mixing it up with your team, all the while carefully moving things and setting stuff in motion. And not getting spiked in the face. And, after reading Matts/Azul's comments - have that Ocean's Eleven colouring - very cinematic.

I like making games in ideas. Good one Snuggly.

I disagree.

Make it both. In the day, it all sound glamourous. Though when it comes down to it, it really isn't.
Hmm.

At the moment, I'm thinking it'll work as a team-based kinda deal, where you have five people all doing their thing at once (or however many you need to use at any one time) and can switch between them at any time. For example, you can set one character, let's say the sexy lady distraction, a task and either have the AI carry out the task while you take advantage of it by using another character, or you can do it yourself.

Okay, any ideas? If the game makes me over a million quid, I'll give each and every one of you who gives me a good answer a £1000, I promise!

You'd have to include some very smooth and charming interplay at the tables. In particular, include - cleavage, cigar, smile, a spirit of some description, and me taking notes.

The Parol Officer just had it's network premier on 4. It was ok but I prefer Coogan's other work far better. I absoloutly love I'm Alan Partrige.

The game sounds good if you like that kind of game, alott of my friends would love it and play for ever but I prefer RPG's and Action Adventure games like Final Fantasy and Zelda <- all bow before Zelda, ruler oof the world.
