WINNURZ!
3rd Place
Grix http://ukchatforums.reserve.co.uk/display_messages.php?threadid=104374&forumid=423
Wonderfully innocent but haunting piece, simple style hiding something more complex. A great read.
2nd Place
Rickoss http://ukchatforums.reserve.co.uk/display_messages.php?threadid=104459&forumid=423¤tsort=desc
Fantastic atmosphere and descriptions, stuck in the mind, tugged at the soul.
1st Place
Cyclone http://ukchatforums.reserve.co.uk/display_messages.php?threadid=103955&forumid=423
Bloody fantastic descriptions (some of the best) at start and end. Slightly lagging in the middle, but a well-deserved win for an epic story.
Special Mentions:
Every single other person who entered..
I was very impressed at the quality of entires (*snigger*) - there's not a single story I wouldn't read again. Tough judging.
> It's just getting so samey having a dark story with a murder or worse.
> I'm not saying I'm not guilty of it (though I've only entered once),

There's always something different.
http://planetnintendo.co.uk/ssc/stories.htm for some good examples.
Meka's "One Hell of a Battenburg" was clever, without being too dark.
Ineedsleep's "Dear Diary" was brilliant.
The best one by far though, still, is Black Glove's "Zora's Wish".
Different in the most beautifully sculptured way.
And Grix's LSD trip beat it! ;-D

Nooooo you muppet!
That way you'll NEVER improve.
Anyway, what's there to be embarrased about?
We don't really have standards as such, just enjoy something or not.
The chances are that if you're inexperienced then you won't stand a chance in hell of winning, but no one writes to win...
... not even to win the chance to CHOOSE THE NEXT TOPIC AND WINNER!!! :-O
Just have fun! ;-)
;-D
Need to enter this competition. I've not really wrote anything disturbingly dark in a long while, I might even go for it. I've got a sweet story otherwise, but no idea. Oh, I can do both... well, righto.
People have viewed it, but not seen fit to respond.
I need ego-massage.
i.e Post a nice response
<:)
I'm odd like that - I lack any sense of motivation, yet when I start, I can't stop. And that's with pretty much everything.
Hmm.
