"Why are you Scotts so bitter?"

I've noticed the majority of you want England to lose, more than likely due to bitterness and jealousy. But if things were the other way round, I'd still be cheering on Scotland. I don't see what your problems are. It's not like you're in competetion with us, is it?

But what happens in this thing we call British sport, is that for example if a scottish individual wins something, they will be called a Brit. Yet if they lose, they are a scot.

Yeah but I don't see it as England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales - I see it as Britain as a whole. I root for every one of the five teams from the Isles, and it's kind of a shame that a lot of other people don't feel that they can do the same.

This is what I hate, most people are still stuck in the past. I'm Scottish and I'll certainly be supporting England. Just because England and Scotland were at war hundreds of years ago, it doesn't mean that this generation still has to be narrow minded. Surely, by now, we should be able to put any differences aside. I like to think that by supporting England, I'm helping in some small way to put our pasts behind us. :)

This is also true though, sometimes it seems as though England do become arrogant, but there's no point in entering these competitons if you don't show your confidence. Plus, there's always the argument in Scotland that England keep going on about 1966 and how it's always crops up even now. But I personally don't see our problem, England must have worked hard to win, so they have the right to brag. I'm sure we would do the same thing if it was us.

This is a little unrelated, but the reason Scotland is so crap at international football is because our top teams are full of players from Italy, Spain and Germany. Maybe if we started to train up some young SCOTTISH footballers then we may have a chance.
