I've even seen them referred to as English. One bit of broadcasting which sticks in my mind was from the commonwealth games. They showed highlights from Scotland V England bowling and pointed out that the English should be confident because the English curling team won the Winter Olympics.

I thought they lost to Germany 1-0, Hamann scoring. That was the last game England played at Wembley, I think.
Anyway, I think we're all forgetting that it is just a game of football after all. Sure, it's nice when a bunch of relative strangers from the same country as you win something for your country but I'm happy just watching the exhibition of European football.
I tip Spain every World Cup and Euro Championships. They'll come good for me one day. :D

(God, third psot in a row now)
WHen I wnet to Florida 3 years ago, someone asked me where I was from. I told them I was from Scotland.
What did they say?
"Oh, do they have TV there?"
I tried sooooooooooo hard not to slap them.

Fien then.
Woo, Britain won the World cup in 66.
I've never been prouder.
Although every single England game was played in Wembley in 66.
Hmmm.
Then in 67 Scotland won agaisnt the same 11 that played in teh final.
When I say won I mean thrashed.
"5-2 wooo"
And then Englandlsot their last ever game in Wembley to Scotland. 1-0. Yehaw.
Would you expect France to cheer on Germany if they weren't in the tournament? Portugal to cheer on Spain?
It's sheer stupidy.
What was it, 1974 or 1978 (I can't remember the exact year) when England weren't in the World Cup but Scotland were, the amount of bitterness from the English was appalling.
And it's Scot. You twát

That's true. Most other countries in the World regard Scotland as a region of England, instead of an individual Country. But I'm crap at Geography too, and I'm sure I've made similar mistakes about other countries.
My Uncle went to New York recently and someone asked him if he knew one of their friends from Scotland, they said he lived in Finland so there's a good chance that he would know him. That just goes to show how ill informed some people are.
Arghh!
