To split a massive file up into small ones I think you can use WinRAR to do this. If someone knows how to just tell the person.

Hi Colin

To get Shadows Google bittornado.

To change ports on Shadows go to preferences. Choose a range of nine between 49152 to 65535 for example 49552 to 49560. Then make sure you have opened these ports on your firewall. As I said the lack of download speed may be down to NTL throttling the default ports.

I've no idea how to change the ports - I didn't need to. I think it uses 6881-6889 by default, but you might wanna check that.

Just leave it. The longer you leave it for, the more sources you will get. Set the maximum upload rate to about 80% of your observed maximum. This allows 20% of your upstream for sending the "receipt packets" on your download stream.

I use the experimental client, and I get round about 46kB/s downloading, and limit it to 26kB/s uploading with 6 uploads max. This is on a 512/256 broadband connection.
